a bit about me.
I am a multi-instrumentalist and recordist currently based in Cleveland, Ohio. I moved here from Ithaca, New York to complete my degree in classical bass trombone performance. I’ve had a six-year tenure as a member of the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, in addition to performing with The Cleveland Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, The Syracuse Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, and Akron Symphony.
Outside of the classical music bubble, my passion has always been guitar-based music. I also have extensive experience performing drums, percussion, keys, and bass. I’ve written, recorded, and performed on each of these instruments in jazz, pop, indie, rock, soul, metal, contemporary worship, and musical theater contexts. In the process I’ve spent countless hours learning as much as I possibly can about each instrument, both technically and musically, enabling me to relate on a deeper level with musicians of all backgrounds. Having spent my life as a freelance performer and a member of several bands, in addition to my multicultural background, I feel that I bring a well-rounded musical sensibility to the table.
Tapping into the creative process is my life’s pursuit. To me, recording has always been both an extension and a documentation of the creative process. Alongside to my performance background, I’ve been making recordings of myself and my friends for as long as I’ve known how to use a computer. My obsession with the stories behinds great records has translated directly into a passion for making more great records. I live for the moments where the sound in an artist’s head becomes a reality. My proficiencies as a classically trained musician, alongside my experiences as a performing artist, are undeniably transferrable skills that have directly aided my abilities as a recording engineer.
With a naturalistic approach, I strive to use my skills and knowledge to provide independent, underground, and local artists with world-class recordings of their music. I aim to cultivate a comfortable and unpretentious creative space where artists feel they can express their art freely and give their best performances with zero fear of judgement, regardless of race, age, gender identity, culture, or ability level. I especially seek to serve artists from underprivileged or marginalized communities and provide accessibility to a safe and welcoming recording environment; one which has historically been dominated by privilege. In doing so, I wish to uplift the community by documenting and preserving artifacts of culture, highlighting that which would otherwise go unheard.
